Project 2 Version 2

This image was created using the assets and models that were created from my classmates. This image is a focus on how material goods have transcended the Earth. Small items made of plastic and particulates have serious ramifications on the pollution, whether it be water, air, or sky. This image also explores the problem with small particulates that have entered things meant for consumption such as water and alcohol.

This is the first version of the Anthropogenic Stalactites project. This was created by using the different assets that I created. This image is commentary on how people seem to cling onto their materialistic objects much more than they should. The image uses harsh lighting to highlight the obsessive behavior people have with small knick-knacks. The water bottle is hidden in order to indicate that some people obsess over material goods more than essential things such as water.

Project 2 Initial Renders

For this project I 3D modeled various objects that were found at my house. These objects were interesting to me because I felt as though they all had a lot of contrast to them. I wanted to focus on creating models of knick knacks to show how humans can find value in something so trivial and useless.

This project was meant to be my perspective and appreciation for social media. It allowed me to reconnect with lots of family members in Korea. The text on the arm translates to "Reply." The piece was meant to be hung up from the ceiling. My inspirations for this project were Fernando Orellana and Kim Jung Gi.

My 3D Renders for Project 1

This piece is meant to be a depiction of what I imagine will be my 1st 3D project. My project was heavily influenced by my heritage, lineage and culture. I wanted to comment on how social media has helped me connect with my family in South Korea and keep developing my cultural/ethnic identity. I focused on the mouse's cord and wanted it to represent the blood vessels in my own arm. Tying the blood vessel to the mouse gives a literal and symbolic meaning behind the importance of the mouse to my own blood.

This project is meant to focus on my appreciation for social media and global communication. I wanted to commentate on the positive side of easy communication and the development of technology. If it weren't for FaceTime or instant messaging I would not be able to connect with my family back in S. Korea as easily. Instant communication has strengthened my relationship with my family and deepened my appreciation for my heritage and culture.
